🚀 BlockJam 2025: The Top AI + Web3 Projects Built on Theta
In just five days in Berlin, developers from around the world turned bold ideas into working AI + Blockchain prototypes — all powered by the Theta Network and Theta EdgeCloud.
Building the Future — Together, on Theta
This year’s BlockJam Hackathon, held in person in Berlin ahead of THETA EuroCon 2025, brought together more than 40 developers across 16 teams from around the world.
Over five intense days, builders coded side-by-side, explored new ideas, and integrated Theta’s cutting-edge technology — from the Theta Blockchain to Theta EdgeCloud’s decentralized GPU infrastructure.
BlockJam showcased how Theta’s hybrid edge-to-cloud compute network empowers developers to train AI models, process video, and deploy applications faster, cheaper, and more sustainably than traditional centralized clouds.
The week culminated in live demos and final pitches on stage at THETA EuroCon 2025, where seven projects stood out for their innovation, execution, and vision.
Together, they took home over $190,000 USD in prizes, including cash, AWS credits, and spots in the upcoming TEC Incubator.

🥇 1st Place — Checkmate
AI-powered test generation & grading platform for educators
Checkmate makes grading effortless.
Their AI-driven platform lets teachers generate tests with AI and grade answer sheets instantly just by snapping a photo — cutting hours of manual work down to seconds.
Built entirely during the hackathon, the stack runs serverless on AWS with AI inference executed through Theta EdgeCloud, delivering speed, scalability, and privacy compliance by design.

🥈 2nd Place — Covelant
Sports analytics made accessible for every athlete
Covalent built an AI sports-video analytics platform that gives coaches and players collaborative tools to review matches, tag plays, and track performance.
The team started with tennis as their pilot sport and integrated Theta EdgeCloud Community GPU nodes (RTX 4090 & 5090) to run heavy video-analysis models — achieving up to 6× faster processing at a fraction of the cost.
Their mission: bring professional-level analytics to every athlete, not just the elite few.

🥉 3rd Place — Scaine
AI-driven cinematic video creation on Theta EdgeCloud
Scaine showcased a web-based storyboard and video-generation platform that lets creators turn ideas into finished clips — complete with prompts, voiceovers, and animations.
Running entirely on Theta EdgeCloud, Scaine demonstrated how decentralized GPUs can drastically lower costs for AI video production while unlocking new creative freedom for storytellers worldwide.
🏅 4th Place — Auralis
AI that discovers & monitors every competitor move
Auralis built an AI-powered competitive-intelligence dashboard that continuously crawls company websites, product pages, and press releases, extracting structured data and alerting users to changes in real time.
All crawling and extraction runs on-demand through Theta EdgeCloud, turning scattered online noise into clear, actionable insights.
🏅 4th Place — Surff
A marketplace for zero-party data
Surff is redefining digital marketing with a privacy-first data marketplace where users can monetize their browsing data directly with brands.
The prototype connects to Theta EdgeCloud to classify user intent with LLM inference, then rewards participants with on-chain tokens.
Their vision: a trillion-dollar ad industry where consumers are finally in control.
🏅 4th Place — smSynth
Algorithmically generated, copyright-free AI voice models
smSynth solves one of AI’s toughest challenges — data ownership — through a gamified singing app that algorithmically collects high-quality, copyright-free SVS (singing-voice synthesis) datasets.
Creators record short singing exercises, and the system trains verifiable, user-owned vocal models using Theta EdgeCloud.
Since completion of the hackathon, the smSynth prototype has evolved into PitchTime.Pro, an upcoming musician-training web application.
🏅 4th Place — Aura
Your real-time AI life coach
Aura developed a real-time AI life-coach companion that listens, analyzes tone, and reflects emotional trends to help users improve self-awareness and mental health.
Built natively in Swift, it performs speech recognition locally and uses Theta EdgeCloud for emotion-model inference — keeping user data private while providing continuous, personalized insights.

Beyond the seven winning teams, developers at BlockJam explored everything from AI-powered storytelling and decentralized fundraising to synthetic content detection, forecasting systems, and medical data collaboration — all leveraging the Theta Network and EdgeCloud.
